Born and raised in South Africa, I experienced multiple transitions as a young girl and as a young adult.  We moved between continents,  between  and within cities, schools and friends.  I experienced many arrivals, departures, hello's and painful goodbyes.  Letting go and moving on left me with a feeling of in-betweeness.   

These life experiences also gave me a wonderful source of inspiration.  I apply many layers seeking openness, space and light to reveal the history behind and between the layers.  Color, patterns, shapes, texture, line and other visual elements, all stem from significant links to memories, feelings and images which i mine to develop a painting.
